According to the Brazilian Fish Farming Association (PeixeBR), in the 3rd quarter of 2024, export revenue increased by 174% compared to 2023, reaching US$ 18.5 million. National fish production increased by 6.2% in Brazil in 2023 and generates 6.7 billion reais, an increase of 16% compared to the previous year. In addition, Brazil is currently the fourth largest producer of tilapia in the world, a position that may change soon. “We believe that in the next three or four years we should be close to third place in this ranking,” said the President of Peixe BR, Francisco Medeiros. All this demonstrates the sector's growth capacity, but it is necessary to have good products for aquabusiness.
